Re-roofing our cabin in the western Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Told my buds ‘hey if this dude can do it we can too’ ;) So we changed our plans and installed a metal roof. Of course a few little things yet to button up. Just for fun I even made an amateur video of project. Appreciate your efforts and inspiration.

Looks great but why wouldn't you just go to a 10 ft deck is easier to build trees not in the way and still plenty of room?

You are worried about leaks when exposed fastener roofs are garbage out of the gate the screws back out from flexing all the time going hot to cold… shingles or standing seam are the only 2 good roofs on a inhabited structure.. exposed fastener is for barns and less important places

Happy Father's day Graeme- Let's start with my dad joke. I was sitting in my cabin, enjoying coffee with my bacon, eggs and biscuits, when I spotted an albino Dalmatian! It was the least I could do. Touching on your construction methods, ideas, etc. I notice so often during your videos that you're clearing out things which exist in the workflow. If you take the time to look around and see what needs to go to fit the plans you've got on paper (with a cut sheet that shows your costs too), spend a day or 2 simply making room for the project before making the first piece of sawdust. This cabin is going to be really cool when you're done. Godspeed, Sir.
